About Jamin

Jamin is someone who values genuine connection, curiosity, and growth. He believes that some of the most meaningful moments in life happen through honest conversations, whether with ourselves or with others. As a Registered Social Worker, Jamin has worked in community mental health and substance use services since 2017. His career has involved leadership roles, street outreach, community organizing, and clinical counselling. Outside of his professional career, Jamin enjoys getting to know the people and places he is surrounded by. Jamin is currently based out of Vancouver.

Jamin’s Approach to Counselling

Jamin believes that trust is the foundation of meaningful therapeutic work. He understands that opening up to another person can feel vulnerable, particularly when discussing experiences that may carry shame, fear, uncertainty, or pain. In all of his work, Jamin prioritizes creating a safe, genuine, and non-judgmental space where clients can feel fully accepted and understood.

Drawing from his education in Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Jamin tailors his approach to meet the unique and ever changing needs of each client. He believes that healing often happens through a balance of emotional exploration and action, helping clients better understand their experiences while building confidence in their ability to move forward.

Jamin approaches counselling with curiosity, authenticity, and realism. He works collaboratively with clients to better understand their experiences, strengthen self-awareness, and identify pathways toward the life they want to create. While he values exploring emotions and the deeper patterns that shape our lives, he also believes in helping clients leave sessions with practical insights and strategies they can carry with them.

Jamin enjoys supporting clients navigating addiction, mental health concerns, work-related burnout, life transitions, and questions of identity and purpose. He is passionate about helping individuals who feel stuck in patterns that no longer serve them, and supporting them in building greater self-compassion. From his previous experience, Jamin is especially interested in supporting youth, adults, and frontline workers. Through his own frontline work in healthcare, he has developed a deep appreciation for the challenges many helping professionals face and is passionate about creating space for them to receive support of their own.
